Ziyarat Arbaeen

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ وَحَبِيبِهِ

Peace be on the favorite of Allah and His beloved!

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ وَنَجِيبِهِ

Peace be on the friend of Allah and His elite!

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى صَفِيِّ اللَّهِ وَابْنِ صَفِيِّهِ

Peace be on the choice of Allah and the son of His choice!

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ الْمَظْلُومِ الشَّهِيدِ

Peace be on al-Husayn, the oppressed, the martyr!

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَى أَسِيرِ الْكُرُبَاتِ وَقَتِيلِ الْعَبَرَاتِ

Peace be on the prisoner of griefs and the killed of tears!

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ وَلِيُّكَ وَابْنُ وَلِيِّكَ وَصَفِيُّكَ وَابْنُ صَفِيِّكَ

O Allah, I testify that he is Your Favorite and the son of Your Favorite; Your chosen one and the son of Your chosen one.

الْفَائِزُ بِكَرَامَتِكَ أَكْرَمْتَهُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ وَحَبَوْتَهُ بِالسَّعَادَةِ وَاجْتَبَيْتَهُ بِطِيبِ الْوِلاَدَةِ

Winner of Your Honor. You honored him with martyrdom, and favored him with happiness, and selected him by good birth.

وَجَعَلْتَهُ سَيِّداً مِنَ السَّادَةِ وَقَائِداً مِنَ الْقَادَةِ وَذَائِداً مِنَ الذَّادَةِ

And made him a lord from the lords, and a leader from the leaders, and a defender from the defenders.

وَأَعْطَيْتَهُ مَوَارِيثَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَجَعَلْتَهُ حُجَّةً عَلَى خَلْقِكَ مِنَ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ

And gave him the inheritance of the Prophets, and put him as a proof upon Your creatures from the successors.

فَأَعْذَرَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ وَمَنَحَ النُّصْحَ وَبَذَلَ مُهْجَتَهُ فِيكَ

So he excused in the call (to the path of Truth), and he advised and exposed himself to destruction for Your sake.

لِيَسْتَنْقِذَ عِبَادَكَ مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ وَحَيْرَةِ الضَّلاَلَةِ

To save Your slaves from ignorance and perplexity of deviation.

وَقَدْ تَوَازَرَ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ غَرَّتْهُ الدُّنْيَا وَبَاعَ حَظَّهُ بِالْأَرْذَلِ الْأَدْنَى

And those who were deceived by this world fought against him, and sold their share of the Hereafter for the meanest price.

وَشَرَى آخِرَتَهُ بِالْثَّمَنِ الْأَوْكَسِ وَتَغَطْرَسَ وَتَرَدَّى فِي هَوَاهُ

And traded their Hereafter for the lowest price, and were arrogant and fell into their own desires.

وَأَسْخَطَ نَبِيَّكَ وَأَطَاعَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ أَهْلَ الشِّقَاقِ وَالنِّفَاقِ وَحَمَلَةَ الْأَوْزَارِ الْمُسْتَوْجِبِينَ النَّارَ

And caused pain to Your Prophet, and obeyed from Your servants the people of dissension and hypocrisy and the bearers of burdens who deserve the Fire.

فَجَاهَدَهُمْ فِيكَ صَابِراً مُحْتَسِباً حَتَّى سُفِكَ فِي طَاعَتِكَ دَمُهُ وَاسْتُبِيحَ حَرِيمُهُ

So he fought them for Your sake with patience and anticipation, until his blood was shed for Your obedience and his sanctity was violated.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْناً وَبِيلاً وَعَذِّبْهُمْ عَذَاباً أَلِيماً

So O Allah, curse them with a painful curse and punish them with a painful punishment.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ

Peace be on you O son of the Messenger of Allah! Peace be on you O son of the Master of Successors!

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَمِينُ اللَّهِ وَابْنُ أَمِينِهِ عِشْتَ سَعِيداً وَمَضَيْتَ حَمِيداً وَمُتَّ فَقِيداً مَظْلُوماً شَهِيداً

I testify you are the Trust of Allah and the son of His Trust. You lived happy and died praiseworthy, and passed away missing, oppressed, a martyr.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ مُنْجِزٌ مَا وَعَدَكَ وَمُهْلِكٌ مَنْ خَذَلَكَ وَمُعَذِّبٌ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ

And I testify that Allah will fulfill what He promised you, and destroy who deserted you, and punish who killed you.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ وَفَيْتَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ حَتَّى أَتَاكَ الْيَقِينُ

And I testify that you fulfilled the pledge of Allah, and fought in His way until certainty (death) came to you.

فَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَكَ وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ اُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذَلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ

So may Allah curse who killed you, and may Allah curse who oppressed you, and may Allah curse the people who heard that and were satisfied with it.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنِّي وَلِيٌّ لِمَنْ وَالاَهُ وَعَدُوٌّ لِمَنْ عَادَاهُ

O Allah, I make You witness that I am a friend to those who love him and an enemy to those who oppose him.

بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَاُمِّي يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ

May my father and mother be sacrificed for you O son of the Messenger of Allah!

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ نُوراً فِي الْأَصْلاَبِ الشَّامِخَةِ وَالْأَرْحَامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ

I testify that you were a Light in the lofty loins and purified wombs.

لَمْ تُنَجِّسْكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةُ بِأَنْجَاسِهَا وَلَمْ تُلْبِسْكَ الْمُدْلَهِمَّاتُ مِنْ ثِيَابِهَا

Ignorance did not stain you with its impurities, nor did dark events clothe you with their garments.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ مِنْ دَعَائِمِ الدِّينِ وَأَرْكَانِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَمَعْقِلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And I testify that you are from the pillars of Religion, and the supports of Muslims, and the stronghold of Believers.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ الْإِمَامُ الْبَرُّ التَّقِيُّ الرَّضِيُّ الزَّكِيُّ الْهَادِي الْمَهْدِيُّ

And I testify that you are the Imam, the Good, the Pious, the Satisfied, the Pure, the Guide, the Guided.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوَى وَأَعْلاَمُ الْهُدَى وَالْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقَى وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا

And I testify that the Imams from your offspring are the words of piety, the signs of guidance, the strong handle, and the proof upon the people of the world.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ وَبِإِيَابِكُمْ مُوقِنٌ بِشَرَائِعِ دِينِي وَخَوَاتِيمِ عَمَلِي

And I testify that I believe in you and I am certain of your return, with the laws of my religion and conclusion of my deeds.

وَقَلْبِي لِقَلْبِكُمْ سِلْمٌ وَأَمْرِي لِأَمْرِكُمْ مُتَّبِعٌ وَنُصْرَتِي لَكُمْ مُعَدَّةٌ

And my heart is at peace with your heart and my command follows your command, and my help is prepared for you.

حَتَّى يَأْذَنَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ فَمَعَكُمْ مَعَكُمْ لاَ مَعَ عَدُوِّكُمْ

Until Allah gives you permission. So with you, with you, not with your enemies.

صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَعَلَى أَرْوَاحِكُمْ وَأَجْسَادِكُمْ وَشَاهِدِكُمْ وَغَائِبِكُمْ وَظَاهِرِكُمْ وَبَاطِنِكُمْ آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ

Salutations of Allah be on you and on your souls and on your bodies, and on your present and on your absent, and on your apparent and on your hidden. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds!
